The Classroom Seating Chart tool helps you create a digital floor plan of your classroom and assign students to their seats. This makes it easy to manage your classroom setup, plan group work, or quickly adjust seating arrangements.

How it works:

1. Open or create a classroom layout

  • When you open the tool, you’ll see an overview of your saved seating charts.

  • If you don’t have one yet, start by creating a new classroom layout.

  • You can sort layouts by name or date, or search for a specific one.

2. Add furniture

  • Use the menu on the left to drag desks, tables, and other pieces of furniture into the workspace.

  • Rotate furniture to fit your classroom layout. Some items can also be resized.

3. Add students

  • Switch to the Students tab.

  • If you haven’t created a student list yet, click Manage students to add them.

  • Drag a student’s name to a desk to assign their seat.

  • To remove a student, drag their name back to the menu or use the delete option.

4. Use colors

  • You can assign colors to students for quick visual grouping (for example, by table groups or learning levels).

  • Select a color at the top of the Students tab before dragging a name onto a desk.

5. Shuffle or reset

  • Shuffle will randomly rearrange students on the seating chart.

  • Reset clears either the student placements or the entire chart, including furniture, so you can start fresh.

6. Save and print

  • Click Save to store your seating chart.

  • To print, open a saved chart and select Print (or use CTRL+P). For best results, choose A4 paper, landscape orientation, and adjust scaling if needed.

💡Tip: Try using different seating charts for various classroom activities. For example, one layout for regular lessons, one for group projects, and another for tests. This saves time and gives students clear visual structure.
