The Letter Generator creates random letters or phonics to use in reading, spelling, and phonics practice. It’s a fun and interactive way to engage students in recognizing letters, practicing sounds, and building words.

How it works:

  1. Add the tool to your board

    • A letter card will appear in the middle of the screen.

    • Use the arrows on either side to move through the letters or press the Shuffle button to generate a random one.

  2. Open settings

    • Click the gear icon to customize the tool.

    • Choose which letters should appear:

      • Select individual letters.

      • Quickly select all vowels, consonants, or the whole alphabet.

    • You can also include phonics combinations (such as sh, th, ai, ng).

  3. Letter display options

    • Show letters in lowercase, uppercase, or both.

    • Select the font style:

      • Standard letters (a, g).

      • Written letters (a, g) to match handwriting practice.

  4. Save your settings

    • After saving, the tool will only use the letters or phonics you selected.

💡Tip: Use the Letter Generator in small group work or whole-class activities. For example, generate a random letter and have students:

  • Say the sound aloud.

  • Think of a word that starts with or contains that letter.

  • Practice writing the letter in their notebooks or on the board.
