The Pie Chart tool is an easy and effective way to visually display data on your interactive whiteboard. It helps students quickly understand proportions, percentages, and comparisons.

Create your own chart:

  1. Add the tool to your board

    • A blank pie chart with editable parts will appear.

    • You can rename parts, adjust values, and instantly see the chart update.

  2. Open settings

    • Click the gear icon to customize the chart:

      • Values: Choose how values are displayed:

        • Absolute values & percentages

        • Percentages only

        • Absolute values only

      • Marks: Show or hide marks in the chart, and select the number of marks.

      • Display values: Choose whether values are revealed only when clicked or always visible.

  3. Save your settings

    • Your pie chart will now display according to your selected options.

Classroom examples

  • Survey results: Show student votes for favorite books, sports, or activities.

  • Math practice: Teach percentages, fractions, and ratios with real-time data.

  • Comparisons: Break down categories (e.g., daily routines, weather types, or class progress).

💡Tip: Make pie charts interactive by letting students enter their own data during class activities. This engages them in both collecting and visualizing information.
