The Map of Europe is an interactive way to explore countries, capitals, cities, and bodies of water. You can use it in two modes: Explore to freely look around or Practice to test students’ knowledge with exercises.
How it works:
Open the Map of Europe tool.
Go to Settings to choose your options:
Mode:
Explore to freely click and view features.
Practice to start exercises like “Find London on the map.”
Region: Select the part of Europe you want to focus on, or the entire continent.
Geographical features: Show countries, capital cities, cities, or bodies of water.
Names: Decide if names are shown by default or only revealed when clicked.
Click Save to begin.
Explore mode:
Zoom in or out with the +/- buttons or pinch with your fingers.
Use the mini-map in the corner to see where you are.
Click on a country, city, or body of water to display its name.
Practice mode:
Choose the number of exercises in Settings before starting.
A question bar will appear, for example: “Find Paris on the map.”
Click the location to answer. If incorrect, try again.
Click Show answer to reveal and continue to the next exercise.
💡Tip: Use Practice mode as a fun quiz activity at the end of a geography lesson. Divide the class into teams, ask them to find countries or capitals, and keep score with the Scoreboard tool. This turns review into a lively, interactive game!
