The Drawing Compass helps students explore circles and their properties, such as radius, diameter, and circumference. On the interactive whiteboard, you can demonstrate how to draw accurate circles and give students the chance to practice themselves.
How it works:
Place the compass on the board and drag it where you need it.
Rotate or mirror the compass to set it in the correct position.
Click on the pen tip and drag to draw a circle.
Adjust the legs of the compass to change the size of the circle and show how radius and diameter are related.
Classroom uses:
Demonstrate properties of a circle: Show students what radius, diameter, and circumference mean by drawing directly on the board.
Hands-on practice: Let students use the compass on the board, or have them follow along with their own compasses at their desks.
Build tool confidence: Discuss how to hold and use a compass, and what each part does.
