The Ten Frame tool helps young learners build number sense in a fun and visual way. By filling squares with counters, students can explore numbers up to 5, 10, or 20.

How it works:

  1. Open the tool to see the frame and counters.

  2. Drag the red and green counters into the squares to fill the frame.

  3. If you place a counter by mistake, drag it out of the frame.

  4. Click Reset to start over with an empty frame.

Settings:

  1. Open Settings to adjust the frame.

  2. Choose the Frame size: 5, 10, or 20 squares.

  3. Select the Counter style:

    • Dots

    • Fruit (red apples and green pears)

💡Tip: Use two different colors to show number bonds. For example, place 7 green counters and 3 red ones to make 10. This helps students clearly see how numbers can be composed and decomposed.
