The Measuring Cup tool lets students practice reading graduated measures directly on the interactive whiteboard. It’s a safe and interactive way to explore measurement without using real water in the classroom.

How it works:

  1. Adjust the water level by dragging the button on the side of the cup.

  2. Use the + or - buttons below the cup to add or remove water.

  3. Press the shuffle button to generate a random water level for quick practice.

  4. Read the scale on the measuring cup to determine the amount of water.

Settings:

  1. Open Settings to customize the tool.

  2. Select your system of measurement:

    • Metric System

    • U.S. Imperial Measure

  3. Choose the cup size: regular (½ gallon) or small (⅛ gallon).

  4. Pick up to two display units to show on the measuring cup (for example, liters and milliliters, or gallons and fluid ounces).

  5. Optionally, display marks between units for easier reading.

💡Tip: Use two or more measuring cups on the board to compare water levels. This helps students see that cups with the same level might not hold the same volume, reinforcing the importance of units in measurement.
