Open Question helps you boost classroom interaction by inviting students to share their own thoughts. Instead of choosing from fixed answers, students can write their own responses. This way, you encourage critical thinking and open discussion. You can use Open Question at the start of a lesson, to check prior knowledge, during a discussion, or to reflect at the end of the day.

How it works:

  1. Click on Student Interaction in the toolbar and open Open Question.

  2. Type your question in the text field and click Confirm.

  3. Click Ask your students to start a session.

  4. Students join by scanning the QR code or entering the PIN shown on the screen.

  5. Once connected, students type their answers on their devices and submit them.

  6. You see responses appear on the whiteboard in real time.

  7. Click Reveal answers to show all student responses.

  8. Use the answers to guide discussion, check understanding, or highlight key ideas.

Settings:

  • Edit question: If you want to change your question, click the edit button before or during the session.

  • Hide or show student names: Choose whether responses are displayed anonymously or with student names.

  • End session: Close the activity at any time when you are ready to move on.

💡Tip: Use open questions as conversation starters. For example, ask “What do you already know about volcanoes?” or “What was the most surprising part of today’s lesson?” This way, you not only check knowledge but also create space for every student’s voice in the classroom.
